SUMMARY:Flipping Failure IAP 2022 Workshop Series
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever faced an academic challenge and wished you could share what you learned with peers? \nJoin us for the Flipping Failure IAP Workshop Series! \nFlipping Failure is a collection of stories told by MIT students about their academic challenges while at MIT. This community initiative aims to provide greater visibility to the struggles that we experience as humans while learning and living in an imperfect world. \nThe IAP workshop series will bring together a cohort of undergraduate and graduate students who wish to contribute their story to the Flipping Failure collection\, particularly through a creative lens. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on and share their experiences with a small community of peers in a safe environment and work with an artist to craft their stories into creative audio narratives. \nWhat to expect: \nA combination of exercises in observation\, mindfulness\, and journaling with instruction in crafting a narrative and in sound art (recording environments\, basic audio theory\, spoken word in audio). Guidance and feedback to the crafting and shaping of your story will be provided.\nThe majority of the time in workshops will be spent working on your stories and recordings. No prior experience with either storytelling or media production necessary.\nThere will be approximately 8 hours of in-person workshops in total with lunch provided. \nMore info can be found here: https://flippingfailure.mit.edu/iap-2022-workshop-series/ \nMIT undergraduate and graduate students are welcomed to APPLY by 11:59pm Monday\, January 3rd\, 2022. Space is limited.
